This weekend, I went to downtown Fredericksburg to sell copies of my book, Process.
I didn’t just sell a book. I met people. I mean really met them.
I met a photographer.
An author.
A young man grieving his mother-in-law, lost to overdose.
A young woman who’s faced loss after loss after loss—just in the last month and a half.
Someone chasing their dream because they can’t get hired—not even a callback.
To these people, I offered hugs, prayers, high fives, presence. I listened. I looked them in the eye. I saw them. I saw their souls.
One man asked me, “Do you think if I wrote a book, anyone would buy it?”
I said, “Of course I do.”
Because I meant it.
I encouraged and inspired people this weekend. That is holy work.
If you’re working for the Kingdom, don’t quit.
Heaven can be represented here. 🌿
⸻
I met people like me and people not like me.
I met someone from Israel who is Jewish, and she said she could not read about Jesus.
I respected that. And still, I loved the interaction.
To the people who said no—that was okay with me. I told them, “Have a good day” or “Enjoy your evening.”
Reading isn’t for everyone. Some people don’t like talking to strangers. Some were on their way somewhere. Some said no just out of habit. It never offended me.
One young woman said, “I wish I could buy your book, but I only read fantasy.”
I had nothing against that!
I share this to say:
👉🏽 If you’re chasing your dream and someone shoots it down, don’t get discouraged. Move on. Keep going.
⸻
I met a few bride-to-be groups—two in particular stood out. Both were so excited for me!
Others, too, were excited. People congratulated me.
Some said they wanted to share my book with friends.
Some wanted my autograph.
One asked if she could film me signing her book. That was so cool.
One man asked me to prove I was the author—I showed him my ID.
Some people were rude.
Some were mean.
Some said hurtful things.
My response? Not to sweat their thoughts.
To let my heart keep burning for this mission.
Because that’s what this is.
This is a mission field.
And both yesterday and today, I got to witness and testify.
⸻
And beyond Process—I saw two people get baptized!
Yesterday was great.
Today was fantastic
